At the end of this week I figure I’ll have made roughly 15% on my portfolio this year and remember, I didn’t trade Q1 of 2011. If you ask me that’s awesome but in 2012 I hope to double that. The new newsletter setup should also allow us to track the performance of my swing trades versus my day trades and toward the end of 2012 we’ll add in long term trades too.
U.S. stock index futures were mostly flat Tuesday in quiet action after the Christmas holiday as investors awaited a closely-watched gauge of consumer confidence.
The economic calendar features the release of the Case-Shiller home price index for October at 9 a.m. Eastern, with the Conference Board’s December consumer confidence index on tap at 10 a.m. Eastern. Economists surveyed by MarketWatch forecast consumer confidence to rise to 60.0 from a reading of 56.0 in November.
Market volume is usually light this time of the year so don’t expect a lot of action until after the New Year. I’ll do some day trading in chat and probably make 1-3 swing trades this week provided I can find good setups. You might need to act a big quicker with 1-2 day holds this week only because I don’t want the fading volume to get me trapped in any positions.
Looks like the move to Profiding is going to happen so now it’s just a matter of time before all premium JasonBondPicks content is located there. My guess is about 1-month or less.
LQMT – goal was $.16 – $.20 on the alert Thursday so I’ll start to look for an exit this week. Small position, only regret is not buying 2-3 times the shares. Stop is $.125. This could end up being a big story in 2012…glad it was on my watch last Tuesday morning, the focus of Tuesday night’s class and again on my watch Thursday before I filled my order.
USAT – goal is $1.60 – $2.00 long term. Stop is below $1. This was a swing turned long but don’t expect anymore of those…this is a swing trade newsletter so I’ll be working hard in 2012 to work stocks in a 1-10 day time frame, possibly even 1-5 days. I’ll be starting a long term newsletter in about 6-months from now for those who like betting small caps on 1-3 month holds.
