From time to time I like to share some of the best books I’ve read recently. I love reading, it was never important to me growing up but now I’m like a sponge and can’t get enough. To think my high school English teacher was right all along, I just couldn’t see it at the time. The title of this blog post comes from the back of New York Times best-selling author Mac Lucado’s Fearless.
The book was recommended to me by Dave Ramsey of The Dave Ramsey Show. Because I have customers from all over the world, many of which have different beliefs and religions, I’ll warn you now, it does have a religious tone to it but regardless of your religion I think the book is worth it’s weight in gold. Here’s an excerpt from the back of the book.
They’re talking layoffs at work, slowdowns in the economy, flare-ups in the Middle East, turnovers at headquarters, downturns in the housing market, and upswings in global warming. The plague of our day, terrorism, begins with the word terror. Fear, it seems, has taken a hundred-year lease on the building next door and set up shop. Oversized and rude, fear herds us into a prison and slams the doors. Wouldn’t it be great to walk out?
Imagine your life, wholly untouched by angst. What if faith, not fear, was your default reaction to threats? If you could hover a fear magnet over your hearts and extract every last shaving of dread, insecurity, or doubt, what would remain? Envision the day when you can trust more and fear less.
CAN YOU IMAGINE YOUR LIFE WITHOUT FEAR?
Alex Honnold can! This is quite possibly one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen in my life. Not only does Alex travel the world on $1,000 a month but he’s mastered his fear at the young age of 26, something most of us never accomplish in our entire lifetime. Lara Logan of 60 Minutes does this piece on the mountain climber who seems to defy gravity, scaling sheer, steep rock faces with no rope and apparently no fear. Warning, get a towel now because this is going to make you sweat!
Now I really like you as a trader Mr. Jason Bond ! I am a huge fan of Dave Ramsey, I think Tim Sykes should watch this guy. I let Dave Ramsey brain wash me for about 10 years while driving truck and I retired because of his beliefs by the ripe young age of 39.5 years old ! Hey Jason Keep up th great work, I can tell your system works.
Thanks Doug, Dave Ramsey changed my life… I’m not sure where I’d be if I didn’t go all in on that. Glad to here he had an impact on your too.
Jason, I really like your methods of swing trading, I truly can tell that they work, they flat out just make common sense. I like how in some of your youtube videos that when you explain that when a stock goes way up percentage wise , that you will only realize a portion of that. Tim Sykes is one of the guys I first started watching, he’s very entertaining , but I truly think that drinking and partying is getting the best of him. I like you better because you are a hard worker about trading and take it very seriously. Keep up the good work Jason !
Thanks for the kind words Doug.
No sweat !!!! Now go MAKE SOME MONEY !!!!
Well, Jason did you make some money last week ? I kinda trade with the same strategies as you do, I simply use common sense, one of my best ways is looking at about 10 stocks on a watch list, after I watch for month after month I notice when a stock drops and it pops out of the screen and slams me in the face and says BUY BUY BUY !!! Its very obvious at this point when its a buy !!! I try not to over think stocks fundamentals, I truly believe that all companies cook their books to some degree. When I used to work in the working world, I always noticed that all of my employers weren’t even smart enough to pull a simple credit check on their very own management that they would hire, I would have bosses losing their houses , and filing for bankruptcy on their credit cards. So what I am trying to say here is that is employers are to foolish to screen their own employees on their finances how can you trust anyones financial books. I like to soley go off of past stock charts, ( can’t cook those ) I find these to be much more creditable than financials. What do you think ?
Well I take a lot of things into consideration… it’s never just technicals for me.
OOPS ! I meant to say in one of my sentences, ( employers are foolish not to screen people before they hire them in a management position )
